Cagliari concedes an encore and, after Empoli, the former Liverani's Salernitana also sinks with a pyrotechnic 4-2.

Ranieri does not touch the formation that built the ministre of three useful matches in a row, with Gaetano in support of Lapadula and the flanks entrusted to Zappa and Nandez on the right and Augello and Jankto on the other side. The former Liverani player, however, relies on former Giallorossi centre-backs Manolas and Fazio in defence.

Cagliari leaves the ball to the guests and then tries to strike on the counterattack. And in the 12th minute he passes with the most awaited man, Lapadula, who runs on the edge of offside, also passes Ochoa and then scores into an empty net. Referee Fourneau first cancels it and then, after checking the VAR, awards the goal.

Salernitana's reaction is sterile possession of the ball and a diagonal shot from Tchaouna is saved by Scuffet. And in the 40th minute the encore arrives: Salernitana's corner which turns into a lethal counterattack by Nandez, assist for Gaetano and 2-0. And with the rossoblùs having a double advantage, the teams go to half-time.

We start again with Shomurodov replacing the injured Gaetano and the Uzbek immediately leaves his mark. Augello recovers the ball and throws the attacker, first shot blocked by Ochoa, but the tap-in is the winner. At 3-0 Cagliari considers the case already closed and instead Salernitana reopens it in two minutes. In the 11th minute Kastanos beats Mina and in the 13th minute, following a corner from Candreva, Maggiore beats everyone with a header at the near post. The 3-2 sent shivers through the stands of the Domus, Ranieri brought on Oristanio, Viola and Azzi in place of Nandez, Lapadula and Jankto.

And in the 31st minute Shomurodov strikes again, stealing the ball from Fazio, running away on the counterattack and passing Ochoa for the fourth time. It's the goal that closes the deal and Cagliari can celebrate thanks to the new strikers Lapadula and Shomurodov.
