Cagliari Primavera 's progress in the Italian Cup came to an end in the round of 32. The rossoblù were beaten this afternoon 2-1 by Cremonese at the Crai Sport Center. This is the second consecutive defeat for Pisacane's team after the one suffered in the championship against former Alessandro Agostini's Genoa.

After a balanced first half hour, in which Cagliari also had the chance to break the deadlock with Carboni and Pulina, the guests took the lead with Avitabile in the 34th minute. The rossoblù's reaction was not long in coming and, just before the break, Konate re-established the balance.

At the beginning of the second half Cagliari increases the pressure. Sulev, in the 55th minute, incredibly wastes the goal of a possible 2-1 from a good position. Shortly afterwards Carboni challenges the Lombard goalkeeper Brahja. In the 60th minute Tosca gave Cremonese the lead, somewhat surprisingly. Pisacane tries to change the tactical structure by inserting Vinciguerra, Marcolini and Pintus.

In the last twenty minutes Cagliari crushed the grey-red team in their own half without being able to capitalize on the opportunities created. In full injury time Vinciguerra came close to scoring the equalizer which would have taken the rossoblù to extra time. But in the end it is Cremonese who are rejoicing, leaders of the Primavera 2, who thus enter the round of 16.

On Saturday, at 12pm, the baby rossoblù will face Italian champions Lecce in Salento.
