Cagliari Primavera, 2025 starts badly: heavy defeat at home to Lecce

The 2025 season of Cagliari Primavera opens with a very heavy defeat , as they surrender to their peers Lecce 3-0 at the Deghi Center in San Pietro in Lama . A result that hurts and leaves anger among the rossoblù ranks who, for just over half the game, found themselves numerically inferior due to the expulsion of Achour .
Pisacane 's boys start well, trying to impose their game from the first few minutes. In the 4th minute Achour tries to worry Rafaila by shooting from distance, but the French-Algerian striker is not very precise. In the 13th minute Trepy makes a personal move, after a nice run on the right, finding the space to move inside, letting loose a shot with his left foot, the Lecce defense is good at blocking his conclusion. In the 21st minute the match is unlocked: inside the island's area, Daka manages to serve Kovac who manages to surprise Iliev and his defense, sealing the lead. In the 39th minute, Delle Monache recovers a ball lost by Balde and with a double feint manages to enchant the Cagliari defense, carving out space for himself to shoot and putting his signature on the third goal for Lecce . In the 43rd minute, for a foul committed by Soldati , Achour protests a little too vehemently and the referee Iannello, without hesitation, shows a straight red card to the rossoblù number 9, forced to leave the field early and leaving his team in numerical inferiority.
In the second half the hosts put the game to sleep a bit. In the 56th minute Soldati serves Grandu in depth, the number 16 from Cagliari crosses for Vinciguerra who flicks the ball on, the conclusion is weak and Rafaila blocks it easily. Not even the flurry of substitutions made by Pisacane seems to change the outcome of a challenge that is already written: the man less influences the progress of the match for Cagliari and the few and timid attempts by the islanders are all cancelled out by the Lecce team. Lots of possession by the rossoblù which however never turns into truly dangerous actions. The only thrill comes in full recovery, in the 92nd minute, with Vinciguerra who tries to conclude with an empty net, but an opposing defender also denies him the consolation goal.
At the final whistle, Lecce enjoys the victory and the three points that allow them to overtake Cagliari in the standings. Much disappointment among Pisacane 's boys who now must immediately regain concentration for the next scheduled match: Wednesday 8 January, at 1 pm, Torino arrives at the CRAI Sport Center for the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia .
