The sound of a lifetime, the echo of a timeless obsession: within the ancient walls of Castello, in Cagliari, “L'ultima nota” is born, the new short film by brothers Roberto and Francesco Pili.
After the successes achieved with their previous works, the two filmmakers from Cagliari return to tell the fragile border between past and present with an intense and crepuscular work.
“L’ultima nota”, written and directed by Roberto Pili and produced by Francesco Pili, is a journey into memories and the shadow of the inevitable, with shots that capture every secret hidden among the stones of the city’s most iconic historic district.
The absolute protagonist is Ciro “Cyrus” Iaia, a legendary figure of Sardinian punk, with over forty years of musical history behind him, between Wicked Apricots and Cyrus Gang.
His character, a man marked by time and regrets, faces a ten-year-awaited encounter, while a dark presence continues to haunt him.
The cast also includes Virginia Chessa – daughter of Paolo Chessa, a well-known face of the island's theatre –, Gisella Trincas, president of Asarp, and Cristina Argiolas, in a mix of faces that tell the story of the strength and fragility of memory.
“L'ultima nota” will be presented to the press on Tuesday 29 April at 7 pm: at Su Tzirculu (via Molise 58, Cagliari).
Following, a meeting with the director and cast will offer an intimate and passionate look at the birth of a work suspended between nostalgia and foreboding.
