Objective: 60 thousand teu by 2022. The company of the Grendi Group that manages the international terminal of the Port of Cagliari is aiming high. The results of the handling of the last few days, with the arrival of the mammoth container ship MSC Shuba, win the bet of relaunching the industrial port.

In recent days, the Grendi Group in Cagliari has been the protagonist of multiple stopovers both on the Mito quay of the industrial port and on the RoRo terminal.

The Mito terminal welcomed the largest container ship (about 11 thousand Teu of nominal load) ever landed in the Port Channel, dealing with the handling of empty containers. The ship carried out over 2700 movements (5,312 Teu) between containers and cargo doors.

"We have equipped the terminal managed by Mito with 4 cranes and 7 with rubber gantry , equipment that already allows us to be able to handle two large ships at the same time", said Antonio Musso, managing director of Mito-Mediterranean Intermodal Terminal Operator and of Grendi Maritime Transport.

"We express satisfaction and keen appreciation for the work carried out by Mito, whose activity, in the canal port of Cagliari, is allowing and consolidating a lively presence of container traffic that appears increasingly projected towards growth both nationally and internationally", he added the president of the Port Authority of the Sardinian Sea, Massimo Deiana.
