Cagliari, mister Nicola: «Lecce is an organised team, but we are determined»

"I'm really curious to see what impact my team will have in the first away game, away from our pitch and our fans."
Davide Nicola tries to raise the bar and launches the challenge to Lecce from the Assemini sports center where Cagliari has just concluded the final training session before the departure.
"Certainly, our attitude will not change, that must be in our DNA", the rossoblù coach is keen to point out, who in Puglia is also looking for confirmation from an identity point of view. "What changes, clearly, is the opponent, whose physicality is certainly not that of Como. So there are some adjustments to be made that we have had time to work on".
Maximum respect for Lecce. "Organized team, of value. For years now it has shown that it has clear ideas. And the ds Corvino, very good at finding talent, has added important players to the roster", the premise. "That said, we want to demonstrate the progress. And if Lecce has its own identity, Cagliari is also finding it more and more".
Nicola prefers not to go out on a limb about Gaetano and the market in general. "I never talk about the market the day before a match. I don't even know what the updates are on any negotiations because I'm busy preparing for the game. And so is the team, given how they've trained these days. That's why I complimented the lads this morning," reveals the Cagliari coach. "I told them that if we're in the market period, I didn't notice it on the pitch. I didn't see distracted people but determined."
