"Compact. Generous. Courageous." Fabio Pisacane lays out the plan ahead of the assault on Inter, tomorrow evening at the Unipol Domus, starting at 8:45 PM. "It will be a very difficult match, considering we'll be facing so many champions," the Cagliari coach prefaces. "We'll therefore have to put in a spirited performance, like a true team. A performance with generosity and cohesion. But we'll also have to have the courage to dare when we have the chance." He doesn't beat around the bush, then. "We'll have to have a fighting spirit and respond blow for blow."
Pisacane fondly recalls his first match against Inter, as a Cagliari player. "It was my first away game in Serie A after my debut. I was mostly focused on staying on top of things and making as few mistakes as possible. It was a wonderful day, thanks to a brace from Melchiorri, who was returning from a long injury. I remember it like it was yesterday. Today I'm on the other side, I'm preparing differently, and I hope to play a top-level match with my team."
All in one breath, like when he talks about Nicolò Barella, his former teammate and now Inter vice-captain: "It will be great to hug him again. I've seen him grow day after day. I was absolutely convinced he would get to where he is, even if it's easy to say today. It will be nice, but also funny, to meet again in this new role: me as Cagliari's coach, him as a top player."
