On a morning darkened by the news of Mattia Felici's second cruciate ligament rupture, Unipol Domus opened its press room for the presentations of Riccardo Ciervo, Roberto Gagliardini, and Giuseppe Aurelio . And three of the Rossoblu's latest signings made their debut at the microphone, sending a message to their teammates.
"Before we begin, we wanted to express our thoughts for Mattia, who, as you know, has suffered a very serious injury," the virtual embrace from the more experienced player, Gagliardini. "We will miss him so much, not only as a player, whom you know better than we do, but above all as a person. He's a wonderful guy, always smiling, and that's a significant loss."
The former Inter player arrives in Sardinia as a free agent after a season with Hellas Verona. "I immediately had a great feeling. I'm really happy and excited to be here and begin this new adventure."
Alongside the 1994-born player, who's rapidly progressing toward surpassing 250 Serie A appearances, is a newcomer to the category. Giuseppe Aurelio's smile perfectly sums up his satisfaction: "When I got the call, I was very excited. Within a couple of weeks, the call was closed, and I'm just so proud to be here. I think I've come here at the right time in my career."
Last season, in Serie B with Cesena, was also very positive for Riccardo Ciervo, who arrived in the final hours as part of the deal that brought Esposito to Sassuolo. "I'm definitely coming off the best year of my career; last year was a great season in terms of playing time and performance. I couldn't have expected anything better than coming to Cagliari."
