Cagliari flies to the USA with Viola, Kingstone and Ciocci

Cagliari of 2025 is almost like the Chicago Mustangs of 1967, the rossoblù team made up of starters and young players who participated, almost sixty years ago, in a championship in the USA.

The Sardinian club had already participated in the tournament, but in tandem with Como and with only the Primavera boys. This time Cagliari will participate alone: there will be many of the protagonists of the Coppa Italia with mister Pisacane.

But with some reinforcements: Ciocci, Viola and Kingstone will also leave for the States. Plus Cavuoti, returning from his loan at Feralpisaló and some young players from the Chinese Academy of Xiapu. The mini championship, The Soccer Tournament (TST), will be a 7-a-side football competition that will be played from 4 to 9 June in Cary, North Carolina. West Ham, Villarreal, Borussia Dortmund, Club América, Bournemouth and Atlético Madrid will also participate. Cagliari will be the only Italian club to take part in the tournament. There are 48 teams at the starting line, divided into 12 groups of 4. Cagliari, placed in group B, will debut at the Tst 2025 against the Hoosier Army on Wednesday 4 June at 12:30 (local time). Also on Wednesday 4, at 20:15, the rossoblù will take to the field against the Cardinal Legacy.

Thursday 5th June the challenge against City Soccer FC (1 9.30 pm ). The first 2 teams of each group advance to the next round, plus the 8 best third-placed teams.

"Being at the TST for the second consecutive year is a source of motivation for Cagliari - explains Stefano Melis, general manager of Cagliari Calcio - we are facing a very high level tournament, full of opportunities not only technical, but also brand awareness and relationships. It will be a great challenge, very stimulating, to represent the entire Serie A and Italian football in this context".

The other players are already on vacation: appointment for the resumption in Assemini in mid-July. Then retreat in northern Italy: the new headquarters (still to be made official) should be Ponte di Legno.
