The Municipality of Cagliari has declared war on waste disposal, implementing inspections, fines, and tools to help everyone do their part. But it is with the cooperation of our citizens that we can truly defend our city.

What the Municipality is doing

  • Targeted checks and fines: starting January 1, 2024, a new special section of the Local Police with a dedicated team will monitor the area, identify and fine those who abandon waste, and, when necessary, initiate legal proceedings. Today, abandoning a single bag of waste on the street is a criminal offense !
  • Mobile cameras and camera traps positioned in sensitive areas, frequently moved from one place to another within the city, have already allowed several perpetrators to be identified.
  • Direct reporting channel: The website https://cagliariportaaporta.it/rifiuti-abbandonati-2/ is available to report incidents of incivility and request the collection of waste abandoned by rude people.

  • Free home collection of bulky waste: call the toll-free number 800 533 122 (Information Center via Ciusa 133, Mon-Sat 8am-8pm).
  • Two mobile recycling centers: Via Pisano and Via Puglia.
  • Two Ecocenters: via Borgo Sant'Elia and via San Paolo.
  • A Reuse Center: Via Contivecchi 8.

These tools exist to help you dispose of any type of waste correctly, without excuses.
