After three defeats in Serie A for Cagliari tomorrow (18:30) a new match arrives at the Domus, the one-off match of the round of 32 against Cremonese. The rossoblù arrive after the shock established at the end of the defeat with Empoli: « The retreat is a choice decided with the director, president and coach», underlines the coach Davide Nicola on the eve . «It's not that we had too many physical obstacles, but between commitments in the national team and the desire to work in a more attentive and concentrated way we decided to make this choice, given that the Coppa Italia is in midweek».
Cagliari is last in the league with just one goal scored, despite having played four of the five games at home. Nicola asks his players for a reaction: "We are rightly busy, in a position to strengthen solutions and do better what we are doing. We are aware that five games have passed, the potential to make ideas achievable is there. It can happen that, during a championship, a performance is made incorrectly: what interests us is finding new solutions and the possibility of continuing the good things we are doing, improving what needs to be improved ."
The changes. The lineup will inevitably be different from those seen so far in Serie A: « Someone has to rest, obviously , there are those who have played six consecutive games for the full minutes», Nicola points out. «It is important that, in a championship like the one Cagliari has to play, there are as many players as possible available. The Coppa Italia is a match that always interests us, because it is an official match: there will be room for someone who has played less . Someone will be a starter, someone else will come on: we want to show that we are never still».
In front of Cremonese, a team of a lower category but not to be underestimated. « It is a match against a Serie B team, obviously built to try to be competitive and achieve promotion », Nicola's opinion. «It is a team that has players who have played more, but beyond the opponent we are working on ourselves with the awareness of being able to interpret something differently. In my opinion it is important that the boys listen and absorb the trust that is around them, to find continuity of results as well as performances».
