Cagliari finds victory again, in the Coppa Italia: a goal by Lapadula allows the rossoblù to overcome Cremonese 1-0 and access the eighth-finals, where the opponent will be Juventus in Turin. At the Unipol Domus 11,017 spectators: a good figure considering the closure of the Curva Sud.

FIRST HALF – Cagliari is brand new: the defence is three at times, four at others. In the 18th minute Augello breaks through on the left, on his cross deflected by Saro Azzi he sends it wide from two steps away, hitting it badly. Two minutes later Zappa goes off on the right, from the bottom he crosses into the middle and finds no one.

At 26' Felici frees himself well for the cross, at the far post Quagliata heads ahead of Azzi. Two corners arise: on the second exchange for Felici's cross, Lapadula turns on the post with his left. Felici again at 33', kicks at the near post and Saro parries. Gaetano tries at 44' on the developments of a corner, ball high.

SECOND HALF – As soon as the second half began, Cremonese became dangerous, on a right-footed shot by Milanese deflected over the crossbar. Sherri was at risk in the 50th minute, badly parrying a shot from twenty meters by Pickel. Nicola in the 56th minute put Piccoli and Viola on for Felici and Gaetano: when the game resumed, De Luca was launched and Palomino recovered him.

At the hour mark, a counterattack with Piccoli serving Augello on the left: on his cross, Lapadula turns into the net, making it 1-0. The striker could double the score immediately after, but Saro denies him the 2-0 with an open hand on a touch underneath. Then Piccoli comes close to doubling the score twice: in the 66th minute, a right-footed shot sent to the corner by Saro, in the 68th minute a touch from the corner to the side.

Luvumbo, who had just come on, had a good chance to double the score after a clash between two opponents (78') but alone in front of Saro he shot wide with his left foot. On the following action another Cagliari post, Viola with his left foot served with a backheel by Piccoli.
