Cagliari Calcio has made official the new organizational structure of the Youth Sector, placed under the supervision of the sports area led by sports director Guido Angelozzi.
A project that combines continuity, experience and new energy, with the aim of further strengthening the rossoblù youth system, which has always been a breeding ground for island talent and beyond.
Leading the Youth Sector will be Oscar Erriu, born in 1975, a well-known face at Cagliari, where he has been playing since 2014. Former technical assistant of the First team and former manager of the Cagliari Football Academy – a project he helped launch and establish in the area – Erriu returns to the top of the sector with a vision matured on the field, also thanks to the work done in recent years as technical coordinator of the pre-competitive categories and the Under 15, 16 and 17 teams.
Pierluigi Carta, recently awarded at the “Primavera Best Awards” as best manager, begins his seventh season as sporting director of the rossoblù youth team. His confirmation represents a sign of continuity in the valorization of young talents.
Bringing experience and technical solidity will be Bernardo Mereu, born in 1960, who takes on the role of technical director. For him, a historic figure in Sardinian football and protagonist of many successes both on the bench and behind the scenes, a new chapter opens within the club.
Mattia Belfiori, 41, will continue in his role as technical coordinator of the Academy and grassroots activities, in close synergy with Omar Sanna, 45, confirmed as secretary and new team manager of the Under 18s.
Among the new additions, the entry of Gian Marco Serra, 37, stands out as organizational secretary of the sector and team manager of the Primavera. With a solid background in the commercial sector and a long militancy in futsal - both as a player and coach - Serra brings a wealth of transversal skills useful for managing the new organizational challenges.
Also confirmed is Danilo Sancamillo, 38, in the role of observer. After years in the scouting area, he will continue to monitor young talents and feed the club's technical database.
