A hypnotic journey between cosmic trance and bittersweet reflection, seasoned with psychedelia, stoner rock, and noise: this is "Dead Dinosaurs Echoes," the recently released album by Cagliari's Basaltic Plateau, which will be presented to the Cagliari public at the Cousinà Late Show from 9:30 PM on Saturday the 25th, during an evening organized by the venue and Bohemien Eventi.
The band
Basaltic Plateau traces its origins to a chance meeting on the beach between the current three members, Roberto Loscerbo, Marco Serra, and Maurizio Cau, which inspired the idea of creating a project evocative of dunes and wild nature. While drummer Loscerbo hails from the Bologna scene, bassist Serra and guitarist/keyboardist Cau had already been members of Le Mal Noir in the 2000s, reuniting and joining forces with the newcomer in an instrumental trio.
The debut
Soundtracks for dreamlike desert landscapes, devoid of human voices, weave between dream and nightmare in powerful rhythmic sections and astral melodies, reflecting wordlessly on themes such as the relationship between humanity and nature, war, and greed. The album was released on October 17th on the Sardinian stoner label Electric Valley Records.
