Cagliari awaits Luvumbo: the quarterfinals against over-favored Nigeria on Friday
Angola has already surprised everyone with first place in the group: now there are Osimhen and Lookman
Last two days of the market. Cagliari is looking for a midfielder and a defender, while the attacker will just have to wait. At the latest on 11 February, with the final, the Zito Luvumbo Africa Cup of Nations will end and the number 77 will return to Claudio Ranieri's disposal.
But even if Sardinia supports the rossoblù, some hope that the attacker's return can be brought forward. In fact, on Friday at 6pm, his Angola will face Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the event . The Super Eagles are the big favorite for the final victory and could put an end to the already surprising journey of Luvumbo's national team. Angola, in fact, overturned the predictions by winning the group (at the expense of Algeria, fourth), and then eliminating Namibia in the round of 16.
If the march were interrupted against Osimhen, Lookman and his associates, Zito would return to the island over the weekend. Too late to hypothesize his presence on the pitch in the away match at the Olimpico against Roma, but enough to plan Cagliari-Lazio with serenity. If his national team were to also eliminate Nigeria, however, Luvumbo would risk missing another match: the semi-finals, in fact, are scheduled for Wednesday 7 February, three days before the championship match.
