Cagliari will have to wait until Monday to return to action , at 6:30 PM at the Unipol Domus against Atalanta (who were eliminated on penalties last night in the Coppa Italia semi-finals against Lazio). The referee for the match, the fifth-to-last matchday of Serie A, has just been appointed: Juan Luca Sacchi, from the AIA section of Macerata. He will have Valerio Vecchi (Lamezia Terme section) and Davide Moro (Schio) as assistants, Davide Di Marco (Ciampino) as fourth official, and Valerio Marini (Roma 1) as VAR official, with Michael Fabbri (Ravenna) as assistant.

Cagliari's two previous meetings this season under Sacchi have been disappointing. One was a 2-0 defeat to Lazio on November 3rd, in Matchday 10, followed by a penalty shootout loss in Naples (10-9, 1-1 in the 90th minute) . Against Atalanta, however, he has won two of his two matches: 4-0 against Parma on January 25th, and 0-2 against Lazio on February 14th. Overall, against the Rossoblu, he boasts four wins, another defeat, and a draw. His last win was a 4-1 defeat against Lecce on January 19th, 2025.
