Cagliari's candidacy for a place in the 2032 European Football Championship has taken a new step forward.

Indeed, an operational meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon at the FIGC headquarters in Rome between the Italian Federation and representatives of UEFA, Cagliari Calcio, the Municipality and Costim Re, focusing on the progress of the project for the new stadium , which is connected to the capital's candidacy as one of the venues for Euro 2032.

"During the meeting," explains a note from Cagliari Calcio, "architect Giovanni Giacobone of Sportium, the company responsible for the design, presented the final version of the project, illustrating its characteristics and its full compliance with the standards required for the organization of top-level international competitions, including UEFA EURO 2032, which was fully appreciated by the UEFA delegation."

The meeting, the club continues, confirmed the significant progress of the project from a technical, administrative, and economic-financial perspective, as well as full institutional consensus on the next steps. In this context, the municipal administration reiterated its willingness to vigorously pursue the process, with the goal of launching the international public tender by next June.

"This step," the Rossoblù club emphasized, "represents a fundamental step towards allowing UEFA to include Cagliari among the candidate cities to host UEFA EURO 2032 by July 2026."
