It's good that the Region has said it is against the privatization of Sardinian airports, but the 30 million allocated are not enough to have an important role in the management of the Cagliari airport .
This is how Paolo Truzzu replies to the interview given to today's L'Unione Sarda by Barbara Manca .
«The 30 million allocated for a possible regional participation serve precisely to confirm that we are here and willing to seriously contribute to the public management of the Cagliari airport », said the Transport Councillor .
The member of the Council admits that the issue is complex but, he underlines, «it is necessary to distinguish the possibility of creating a network between Sardinian airports and that of privatizing them . We think that the Region has the possibility of influencing the management policies of its access routes. Ports and airports are in fact the gates of entry and exit from the Island with a value much more important than the interest of private individuals and the increase in air traffic is not necessarily an improvement in the service for residents. And on this we would always like to have a say ».
«Finally some clarity», Truzzu concedes, underlining that the councilor's words are, «for the first time, openly against the privatization of Cagliari airport» .
But the FdI group leader insists, and asks how these declarations fit in with the allocation of the Todde Council: «How can we oppose privatization considering that with the 30 million allocated by the Region we will be able to purchase less than 10% of the shares of the new company? ».
This is, Truzzu continues, "an extremely minority participation within a private company that will relegate the Region to a role of testimony and not as a protagonist".
Up until now, concludes the former mayor of Cagliari, « the main concern of the Council has unfortunately been to reassure private investors and not the Sardinian citizens , who need certain and immediate solutions to ensure their right to mobility».
