Cagliari trained this morning at the Crai Sport Center in Assemini, awaiting the official announcement of Sebastiano Esposito, who arrived in Sardinia last night . Sebastiano Luperto and Leonardo Pavoletti were missing from the squad: the former is still dealing with a sore left calf and has been out for most of pre-season, while the latter is continuing his recovery program following surgery on his left knee at the end of May. Gianluca Gaetano, however, has been fully recovered since yesterday.

Today was the second training session of the week, ahead of Saturday's Coppa Italia round of 32 match (8:45 p.m. at Unipol Domus) against Virtus Entella, the official start of the new season . Led by Fabio Pisacane and his staff, the Cagliari squad began this afternoon's session in the gym with warm-up work, followed by technique and positional play work on the pitch to develop ball possession, with the final session dedicated to aerobic work.

At the end of the training session, managers, technical staff and players participated in a meeting organised by the AIA (Italian Referees Association) with the CAN (National Referees Commission), held by the Cagliari referee Giuseppe Collu (the only Sardinian on the staff), to illustrate the regulatory innovations and guidelines for this season .

Cagliari will train in the morning tomorrow.
