It seemed Cagliari's transfer window was over with Zé Pedro and Juan Rodríguez, who arrived at Elmas at 6:20 PM, but instead, sporting director Guido Angelozzi landed a signing in the very final moments of the transfer window: Andrea Belotti. The striker arrives at the Rossoblu in a lightning-fast deal, completed at the last minute.
He's making the move permanently: he returned to Como after a loan spell at Benfica, where he played the second half of last season and the Club World Cup in the United States in June. He had one year left on his contract with the club.
The transfer was completed by 8:00 PM, the closing time for the Serie A transfer window. Following the sale of Roberto Piccoli to Fiorentina, Fabio Pisacane now has another striker to complete his lineup. In Serie A, Belotti has scored 114 goals in 348 appearances.
