For a few days Pope Francis also has a small "fassoni" made by a local craftsman.

The 2024 artistic activity of the GP Da Palestrina Polyphonic Choir of Cabras began with a Roman tour directed by maestro Giuseppe Erdas. A few days ago he participated in the papal audience during which he sang some traditional popular songs.

After the audience, the choir animated the "Pilgrim's Mass" in St. Peter's Basilica, presided over for the occasion by the Archbishop Emeritus Monsignor Ignazio Sanna.

«A great honor to meet the Holy Father and be able to offer him a symbol of our land - declares maestro Erdas - Just as it was equally exciting for us to animate the solemn mass in the most important place of Christianity where thousands of faithful and tourists from the whole world", concludes the master.

But not only. The choir also performed in the church of the Nativity of Mary, holding a concert of traditional Christmas songs to commemorate the death of Father Lorenzo Rossi, founder of the parish of the same name. The historic basilica in Trastevere consecrated to Santa Cecilia, protectress of musicians, instrumentalists and singers, hosted the second concert of the Cabras Choir, a now historic formation in the panorama of Sardinian polyphony.
