Off to Carlo Coni 's second adventure. The 47-year-old from Cagliari left this morning from Marina Piccola to attempt again, after the 2019 tour, the circumnavigation of Sardinia aboard his kayak Diana.

First stop Torre delle Stelle and then Villasimius , then we will continue counterclockwise with the aim of covering over a thousand kilometers of coastline and reaching Cagliari again in a month .

With the new challenge , the ecological-educational project "Everyone in the same boat" also started , whose mission is to raise people's awareness of respect and protection of the island's environmental heritage. During kayak navigation, there are ad hoc days dedicated to waste collection.

The Carlo Enrico Giulini Foundation, together with numerous partners, organized a morning dedicated to cleaning the path that leads from the Lazzaretto of Cagliari to the beach of Sant'Elia . Cagliari Calcio also supported the event, following the philosophy set out in the BeAsOne ethical manifesto, with representation from the Primavera team: the young rossoblù Manuel Conti, Ismael Konate, Roberto Malfitano and Ivan Sulev were present.

«We plan to set up collection points which will be appropriately signposted - explains Coni - To date, not only the coastal municipalities such as Cagliari, Quartu Sant'Elena, Tortolì, Cardedu, Villaputzu, Olbia, Castelsardo, Porto Torres have responded to the initiative. , Stintino and Valledoria, but also inland such as Ballao, Barrali, Elmas and Desulo. The objective is not only to clean the area from waste, in particular from plastic, glass and cans which are too often abandoned on our beaches and in the countryside, but also to give a signal and remind people of responsibility and respect for our Island and its nature, a precious asset that belongs to everyone."

Six years ago Coni completed the solo circumnavigation of Sardinia for the first time, aboard his kayak, covering 544 nautical miles, just over a thousand kilometres, in 35 days - departure and return to Cagliari -, for a total of 165 hours of paddling in front of the coasts.
