Budget plan lacking funds for the Buggerru Pact, CGIL slams the Region: "Unacceptable."
Secretary Fausto Durante accuses the party: "An agreement was signed with the president a year ago, promising 30 million that was never allocated." And to secure the funds, Piga (FdI) has proposed an amendment.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
An €800 million budget adjustment with a hole, according to the CGIL, which the Regional Council is called upon to address. "It would be truly unacceptable" if the budget " did not include the resources to implement the workplace health and safety protocol signed in Buggerru on September 4th," criticized union secretary Fausto Durante, who also noted that "the unions have not been consulted and have not formally received the text of the bill."
The union leader complains: " A commitment signed between the unions and the Presidency of the Council almost a year ago continues to be ignored." He adds that "Article 5 of the Buggerru Pact provided for the financing of activities with adequate resources, valid for three years and to be determined within 60 days of signing."
Now, given the importance of the content and objectives aimed at promoting health and safety at work in a dramatic context— 36 workplace fatalities occurred in Sardinia in 2024 alone— "the CGIL urges the Region to implement the planned measures and activities, for which it was proposed to allocate thirty million over three years."
If the resources "were not included in the budget, we would be faced with a commitment that was signed but not fulfilled. This would raise the issue of the enforceability of the agreements signed and, therefore, the quality and value of the dialogue between the regional government and the social partners. This dialogue must involve not just announcements but concrete actions."
Paradoxically, Fausto Piga of the Brothers of Italy party had presented an amendment to the budget pact. His amendment to the budget was rejected. Now he's trying again with the adjustment, requesting a five million euro adjustment to be diverted to 2025, precisely from the agreement supported by the union: "But if the majority wants to reach 30 million, that's fine with me," the opposition figure emphasizes.
