He had promised to return to Porto Torres to perform a concert after last year's event was canceled due to a sudden illness that forced him to stay away. Cagliari-born singer Marco Carta will headline the Festa dei Muratori (Masons' Festival), scheduled for August 1st. The two-day event is organized at the foot of the Aragonese Tower by the Via Libio 53 association, the Madonna degli Angeli Committee, in collaboration with the Le Botteghe Turritane association, and the patronage of the Municipality of Porto Torres. The program features not only entertainment, music, and cabaret, but also the celebration of the ritual in honor of the patron saint of bricklayers.

The winner of the talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, which culminated in first place at the 2009 Sanremo Music Festival, will take to the stage in front of the tower on Saturday, August 1st at 9:30 pm, preceded at 8 pm by a DJ set featuring Russo and Daniel Virdis. Marco Carta's success is evidenced by the numerous accolades he has received throughout his long career as an artist, including several TRL Awards and Music Awards, two Venice Music Awards, two Kids' Choice Awards, two Latin Music Italian Awards, a Premio Barocco, and a Premio Roma Videoclip. Alongside his singing career, he has published an autobiography, "Ho una storia da racconta" (I Have a Story to Tell), and has worked as a voice actor in the animated film Impy Superstar - Missione Luna Park. The first evening will conclude with live music from Gavino Depalmas' Dep Band. On Sunday, August 2nd at 6 pm, Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of San Gavino, followed by a procession. The event was made possible thanks to the contributions of the city's many entrepreneurs, merchants, artisans, and professionals.
