With fifty-five thousand new cases diagnosed in 2021 throughout Italy, of which about 1500 in Sardinia, breast cancer is the most frequent cancer in women in all age groups and is also the cancer for which there is the greatest number of clinical studies both in the initial phase and in the metastatic phase.

This will be discussed in the tenth edition of the " Breast Cancer Update 2022 ", a congress scheduled at the T Hotel in Cagliari on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November .

THE PROGRAM – Friday (from 4 pm) will be dedicated to a meeting between operators, associations and journalists on the subject of the right to correct information on breast cancer in all media: press, social media, radio, web and television. The round table will be attended by Francesco Birocchi , president of the Order of Journalists of Sardinia, Ivan Paone , director of Unionesarda.it, Fabrizio Meloni , head of Communications and external relations of the Aou of Cagliari, the journalist Francesca Zoccheddu and the oncologist and breast specialist Viviana Galimberti .
Saturday 19 (beginning at 8.45) will be dedicated to medical therapy and the evolution of surgery , with particular attention to the aspects that can help the patient to live better their illness.

The news in the diagnostic and therapeutic fields , both medical and surgical, of breast cancer will be shared between speakers from the major national oncological institutions and regional experts.

The appointment is organized by Massimo Dessena , breast surgeon of the Duilio Casula Polyclinic, and by Daniele Farci , oncologist of the Nuova Casa di Cura di Decimo.
