Brazilian Jiu Jitsu conquers Sardinia: Summer Week 2024 kicks off
The island at the centre of the international martial arts scene with 900 athletes from 54 countries and 25 world-famous mastersWith almost 900 athletes from 54 countries and 25 world-famous Masters , the highly anticipated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Summer Week returns to Sardinia. The event, now in its ninth edition and organized by ASD S'Animu, will be held from September 14 to 23, bringing the island to the center of the international martial arts scene.
Presented today in Cagliari , in the presence of the regional councilor for Tourism Franco Cuccureddu and the councilor for Sport of the Municipality Giuseppe Macciotta, the event confirms itself as a highly prestigious event. The athletes come mainly from European nations such as Germany, England and France, but small delegations will also arrive from more distant countries such as Puerto Rico, India and Venezuela, confirming the global interest in this discipline.
Among the protagonists of this edition, there are important names such as Kaynan Duarte, young world champion, former UFC star Demian Maia, and the talented Italian Margherita Montes, fresh from recent fights in the United States. The event will kick off on September 15 with the Sardinian Open, the official stage of the national ranking, and then continue with a series of exciting competitions and challenges. September 19 will be dedicated to the great women's challenge, with 300 athletes ready to do battle. The Ocean GP semifinals and finals, scheduled at the Palapirastu on September 20 and 21, will close the event in style.
