“Estate” and “S'Inghelada” are the titles of Gianni Virdis, a native of Bono but from Sassari with action, reissued on 12” colored vinyl after 46 years.

A reissue that will be presented on Friday 23 June at 7 pm, with the organization of the Disco Segreta, at the Tirrindò club in via Masia number 3, in Sassari.

For the occasion, Gianni Virdis will talk about the genesis of those two songs and a career that saw him as a protagonist of the Sardinian and Sassari music scene .

This will be followed by Carlo Simula's dj set with his selection of “Disco Segreta” of rare Italian disco songs from the 70s.

The disc was released as Dana, the name of Virdis' first band and was originally recorded and mixed at Franco Idini's Tekno Record in the spring of 1977. The group had a mainly local and regional circulation, and then disbanded, merging after some time into another band called “Mediterranean”.

Two songs contained in the single, "Estate" and "S'Inghelada" : the first is sung in Italian, and is a song with a carefree text that celebrates all the beauty of summer, while "S'Inghelada" is perhaps the 'the only piece of disco music sung in the Logudorese Sardinian language, which makes it of even greater historical importance, as it restores the incredible variety and originality of the disco scene of the time, helping to put a piece of the scene puzzle back in its place Italian disco from the 70s.

46 years after its original release, the Disco Segreta label, specialized in recovering little-known songs from the 70s, reissues Dana in a new edition on 12" 180 grams colored vinyl, limited to 100 numbered copies and completely remastered, which restores "Estate" and "S'Inghelada" to their original glory, making them available to a new generation of aficionados of the Italian disco sound.
