A false bomb scare sparked fear last night in Sanremo, on the eve of the first evening of the Festival, at Villa Nobel where a party promoted by Radio Mediaset was taking place.
In Alfred Nobel's historic home, which was evacuated, there were practically all the singers competing, 27 out of 30 . The police, alerted by an anonymous phone call, isolated the area with firefighters and anti-explosive dog teams. The road was closed in both directions until almost 1am, when checks revealed that the alert was false.
«The police arrived with torches - said two waiters on duty during the party - and told us to go out. Everything took place with great tranquility, but no one was able to take their personal effects. It all stayed inside."
«A bomb threat, this also happens in Sanremo. Now we got into the van - the words of Francesco Facchinetti, former DJ Francesco and now manager of Mr Rain, as he returned to the hotel -. We were at the first one, around 300-350 people. Everyone got worried when they saw the dogs starting to roam. It seems there is something explosive, I'm not sure what...". And then: "Nothing happened, no bomb exploded."
