Deadlock over the budget. The Senate Budget Committee meeting, scheduled for 11:00 PM this evening, will be cancelled. According to reports, the bilateral meetings with the parliamentary groups scheduled for this afternoon will also be cancelled.

The meeting is expected to be adjourned until tomorrow. Therefore, no vote has yet been held on the budget bill, which is currently in its first reading at the Senate and must be approved by Parliament by the end of the year.

Among the amendments still to be submitted are the package on local authorities and some new developments regarding workplace safety. Also awaited is the rewording of the Bank of Italy's amendment on gold.
