67-year-old Marcelo Bielsa has been officially appointed as the new coach of the Uruguay national team.

The local football federation made the announcement, according to which the new coach has signed an agreement until 2026.

The Argentine coach nicknamed El Loco, who in the past led the selections of his country and that of Chile, had just returned from the experience on the bench of Leeds , which sacked him in February last year . At club level he has also worked with Athletic Bilbao, Marseille and Lille.

Tomorrow Bielsa will be officially presented to the press by the Uruguayan football federation.
