Triumphal return for Matteo Berrettini after almost three months of hiatus due to the hand injury that forced him to miss the entire season on clay.

The Roman tennis player won the “Boss Open”, Atp 250 on the Stuttgart grass with a prize pool of 692,235 euros.

The 26-year-old blue, number 10 in the ranking and seeded number 2 in the tournament, defeated Andy Murray in the final 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 after more than two and a half hours of play.

Berrettini only had a blank pass in the twelfth game of the second set , when he lost his serve to zero and with it the partial. But in the third he immediately got back on track by placing the break in the first game and confirming it up to ninth, when with another break he took home the game and the title.

It is the sixth career title for Berrettini , third on grass and second in Stuttgart.
