For his farewell to the stage, Benito Urgu had thought, last month, of a great show at the Cagliari Conservatory to be held after Easter.

Once the event was announced, the famous 85-year-old actor, comedian and character actor was overwhelmed by an avalanche of requests to take part in the evening.

It was impossible to satisfy in just one show the thousands of followers who would have wanted to greet him and applaud him for an event to remember in the annals of entertainment.

This is why the single date was then transformed into a mini-tour organized by Andrea Vadilonga and R&G Music which begins this evening, Thursday 4 April, at 9pm at the Auditorium of the Cagliari Conservatory and will continue, for another two days, tomorrow again at Cagliari, same place and time, and Saturday 6 April in Sassari in the Teatro Comunale starting at 9pm .

An extraordinary demonstration of affection from the public for Benito Urgu who in this live show chose to tell his story, retracing the most important moments of his career: 60 years of activity, seven films, fifteen 45 rpm recordings, LPs and the unforgettable cassettes, object cult in the 60s and 70s when CDs didn't yet exist and his monologues were sought after in all corners of the island.

It will be a farewell to the scenes but not to social media: from 2020 Urgu can also define himself as an influencer.

The numbers of views online, in fact, tell of his presence on the web and his success with the public.

With 300 thousand followers between Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Tik Tok , and over 1.5 million accesses every month, the Oristano showman has shown that he is still contemporary and loved.

Younger people will be able to discover his world, while fans who have followed him for over half a century and who have grown up with his gags and jokes will be able to dive into a full immersion among historical characters such as Signora Desolina and Tore Mitraglia, his songs , his sayings and his jokes are always ironic and salacious.

Without any regret and without tears, one of the most extraordinary characters that Sardinia can boast among its most representative artists in the history of entertainment, will greet his audience in joy by proposing a series of hilarious scenes that promise laughter from the first to the last minute of a surprise lineup without guests on stage.

And under the most famous mustache on the island he will certainly give his fans lots of smiles amidst joy, nostalgia and stainless professionalism, the same that has allowed him to be an interpreter loved and admired by colleagues who have written indelible pages in cinema, TV, of the theater and music of our country.
