He hasn't returned to singing (yet), meaning the joy of scoring hasn't been there. But the studs returning to the pitch on Saturday sparked Andrea Belotti's excitement.
"196 days, perhaps the longest of my life, days in which I only dreamed of being able to step foot on the pitch again," Gallo wrote on Instagram the day after Cagliari's crucial victory against Cremonese at the Unipol Domus. A crucial match in which he also participated, first from the bench and then as a substitute up front, where many were waiting for him.
"I will cherish the memory of this match , being able to cheer with my teammates for the victory and feeling the warmth of the stadium, which gave me such a great feeling," Belotti continued. "I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this recovery, but above all , a huge thank you to my wife and daughters, who have been the driving force of these months, who have supported and encouraged me in every difficult moment and pushed me every day to find the strength to work harder and harder to get back to doing what I love most."
"It's been a long journey, but I never gave up," concluded the rossoblù striker. "Thank you, to each and every one of you."
