Electrifying news has finally arrived on the long-awaited sequel to " Beetlejuice ", a little pearl of 80s cinema signed by master Tim Burton and which has quickly become an indispensable cult for lovers of gothic/fantasy atmospheres, capable with its fairy-tale, poetic and macabre imagery at the same time overturning the most well-established horror stereotypes in an unmistakable formula made of irony, lightness and lightheartedness. Still in the role of the crude and ill-mannered bio-exorcist "Beetlejuice", we have known for some time that star Michael Keaton will also return in this second episode; and it is well known that, in addition to Burton's reconfirmation as director, his contribution in bringing the project to life was nothing short of decisive. The desire to create the new episode, keeping the spirit of the original story intact, is summarized in these past declarations: «We said to ourselves: we have to do it well, otherwise it would be better not to do it. Let's get on with our lives and do other things. So I was hesitant and cautious, and he (Tim Burton) has probably been equally hesitant and cautious all these years. Once the right conditions were created I said: “Okay, let's just do it.” We'll just see if we succeed."

Just last month, in an interview granted to People, the actor revealed to his readers the fundamental technical and stylistic qualities that the title should have acquired: «The only thing that Tim and I decided immediately was that if we had made the sequel it should have looked handmade. I was absolutely not interested in doing something where there was too much technology. What made it fun was watching someone in the corner holding something in their hand, or watching everyone in the shrunken room thinking: Those are people down there running these things, trying to do it well." This more traditional and conservative way of working allowed the team to free itself from the over-abused use of green screen, as often happens in big-budget Hollywood productions, and made - according to what was declared - the work even more exciting.

«The most exciting thing is being able to act in an artisanal way, after years spent in front of a giant screen pretending that someone is in front of you. Our method is enormously fun." And today, even before its release, we can already consider "Beetlejuice 2" a successful film: in fact, it seems that Keaton saw the entire final cut and was fully satisfied with it. Interviewed during SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show, the actor proudly shared his positive feedback: «It's really excellent. It's nice. Handsome, you know, physically. Do you understand what I mean? The other one was really fun and visually exciting. It's all of that, but it's really beautiful and emotionally interesting. I wasn't ready for this, you know. It is fantastic. It's fantastic and the cast, I mean, Catherine (O'Hara), if you thought it was funny last time, you better double your expectations. She's so funny and Justin Theroux too... I mean, come on!'

In fact, we know that alongside him we will once again find the stars of the first film Catherine O'Hara and Winona Ryder, as well as the newcomer Jenna Ortega who we remember in particular for the success of the Netflix television series "Wednesday", in the role of Lydia Deetz's daughter . A character who, the interpreter declared to Vanity Fair: «He is strange, but in a different way and not in the way you would think».
