Bebe Vio is leaving fencing, where she won Paralympic foil gold at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, to dedicate herself to athletics.

The announcement was made by the athlete herself, a guest on "Che tempo che fa".

"I've had a lot of physical problems lately. I've never said it out loud: unfortunately, fencing is over. I can't take it anymore physically, but I've tried to focus on other sports ," she explained.

"And now," he concludes, "we have—and I say 'we have'—with the team because I can only do it thanks to a group of people who are behind me right now. Look, we've started with athletics. I think I'll do the 100."
