Born in 1935, born in Gorizia, a wanderer and dispenser of good basketball, who today mourns his passing: Tonino Zorzi died at the age of 88 . A great player and scorer in the role of guard, he also won the Scudetto in Varese in 1961 and the red and white club named him the best player of all time , a great recognition given the champions who have passed through those parts. He then coached for practically half a century and in 2011 he was inducted into the Italian Hall of Fame. A few years ago he led the Over national teams at the World Cup.
In his pilgrimage he also arrived in Sassari in the 1999/2000 season, when Dinamo was struggling in A2. The "Paròn" as he was nicknamed had a wealth of anecdotes second only to his knowledge of basketball.
Definitely the happier and more fortunate experiences as a coach with Naples, where he won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1970. In Mestre they love him since he brought the team to A1 in three different years. Promotion to the top flight also with Reggio Calabria in 1989 and Pavia in 1991.
