Hapoel Tel Aviv conquered the "City of Cagliari" for the first time. Dimitris Itoudis's Israelis defeated Bayern Munich 85-77 in the final round of the sixteenth edition of the tournament organized by FIP Sardegna. Maxima Roma rounded out the podium, defeating Asvel Villeurbanne 84-78 in the third-place match.

The title game offered a preview of next season's Euroleague at PalaPirastu. Hapoel, despite the absences of Micic, Ennis, and Blatt, took the early lead and closed the opening quarter with a six-point lead. Monaco responded, relying primarily on Beauchamp's long-range shooting, but before halftime, Coffey restored the Israelis' lead to two full possessions.

Itoudis's team attempted to finally break away after the break, reaching a 13-point lead. However, Bayern found the strength to reopen the game once again: Beauchamp and Obst led the Bavarians' comeback to within one, putting everything back in doubt.

At the decisive moment, Hapoel found the plays it needed to repel the final German assault. Coffey gave the Israelis breathing room, then triples from Satoransky and Blakeney carved out the final gap. Blakeney himself, at the end of the two-day tournament in Cagliari, was named MVP of the tournament.

The final evening also saw a better response in the stands than Saturday's semi-finals: around a thousand spectators attended.

Maxima took third place. The consolation final rewarded the Roman team, who defeated Asvel 84-78. Without Crowder and Mills, rested by Tony Parker, the French responded to Maxima's first breakaway attempt, which came in the third period through Alibegovic.

The balance lasted until the final minutes, when Xavier Moon took control of the team and inspired the run that brought Roma to +9. A margin that Asvel was unable to recover.
