The Barumini Foundation celebrates the excellent results of the first 2022 budget with figures that return to the pre-pandemic levels of 2019 .

In all three structures (Su Nuraxi, Casa Zapata and Centro Giovanni Lilliu) as of 30 September 2022, over 110 thousand visitors were registered, with particularly positive data in the summer: about 23 thousand visitors (as many as 14 thousand at the Nuragic Palace alone) in August and almost 18 thousand in September.

"Cultural tourism creates real development, becoming the growth engine of our local economies. We will continue to invest with conviction in our historical and archaeological riches, the numbers arriving from Barumini are the best confirmation that the path traced is the right one", comments the president of the Region, Christian Solinas .

"Su Nuraxi - says Tonino Chironi , secretary general of the Barumini Foundation - is a historical and cultural heritage of all Sardinians and an archaeological site of extraordinary importance worldwide, as certified by Unesco. After a period of forced restrictions due to the pandemic , this year there are more than comforting signs, with the numbers of attendance in strong recovery and we are confident that in the next few years we will be able to consolidate this trend also thanks to the support of the Region and President Solinas ".

"It is rewarded - says Emanuele Lilliu , president of the Barumini Foundation - the great work done even in these difficult years that we have faced without being discouraged and planning the future waiting for better times, which have finally arrived. Now we continue to enhance the museum complex, using every channel to further promote it nationally and internationally, so that it is increasingly confirmed as a point of reference for our cultural tourism and a source of wealth for the local economy ".
