Off to the 9th edition of the Cultural Tourism Expo in Sardinia this morning in Barumini.

The "three days", organized by the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation and now a leading event for the sector, once again focuses on issues related to cultural tourism , the management of archaeological sites - in particular UNESCO - and the many opportunities that they open for the economic sector connected to archaeology . In comparison, the leading experts from the world , and then over 21 tour operators from all over Europe (in particular Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Spain, Great Britain and Slovakia) who met with over 60 island companies to activate new channels capable of extending tourist flows to Barumini and the surrounding area while strengthening existing ones.

FOCUS ON RESTORATIONAt the center of the busy calendar of meetings that will continue tomorrow in Barumini and Saturday in Pula, a stone's throw from the ruins of Nora, was the theme of restoration . And it is no coincidence, because the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation , thanks to the Superintendency of Archeology and Fine Arts for the provinces of Southern Sardinia and Oristano and with the University of Cagliari, is about to inaugurate the first degree course in restoration in Sardinia . A unique opportunity that 15 young people from Sardinia, Italy and abroad will have for the first year and with the aim of reaching over 60 students in a few years.

«This event saw us once again as protagonists as the engine of cultural development linked to archeology in Sardinia , but also as a regional center for tourism development and for the dissemination of good practices regarding the protection and valorisation of the great sites of historical interest of our island - the words of the president of the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation, Emanuele Lilliu - as always, this event is characterized by its international aspect, and this is why, again this year, we wanted to involve world-class representatives for this sector and continue to pursue common valorization paths."

TRAINO BARUMINI – The mayor of Barumini, Michele Zucca , also spoke at the opening of the works.   who underlined: « Barumini promotes the inseparable combination of tourism and culture by becoming the Sardinian capital of the sector - he says - the three days bring together experts for the protection and marketing of the Sardinian heritage in an important showcase for the entire island territory on the cultural front but also artistic and agri-food".

News also coming to Casa Zapata . «We are about to resume the excavations at Nurax'e Cresia - recalls the official of the Superintendence, Gianfranca Salis - the particular context, inside the museum building, will allow us to transform the archaeological investigation activity on the nuraghe into a unique experience for the people who visit Casa Zapata and who will be able to witness the operations."

Tomorrow is the second day with many events starting from the conference " Giovanni Lilliu Sardus Pater: Intellectual and scholar of Sardinia " organized by Professor Maria Antonietta Mongiu.
