The Golden Onion Festival returns to Banari, a small town in Meilogu , organized by the Pro loco chaired by Luciana Sassu in collaboration with the municipal administration led by the mayor Francesco Basciu, included in the "Salude & Trigu" program, supported and promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari, which is scheduled for Saturday 22 July, starting at 6pm.

It starts in the morning with excursions on foot and by mountain bike , but also the inauguration of the exhibition "Identity of Sardinia", curated by the Logudoro Meilogu Foundation in Piazza Solinas, which relates the traditional dress of the town with the dominant pictorial realism the Sardinian art scene of the first half of the 1900s.

There will also be a culinary space with a tasting of wines, cured meats, cheeses and focaccia with onions: lunch will take place in Piazza Umberto I, thanks also to the stands of the Pro loco of Banari, Thiesi, Uri, Villanova Monteleone and the San Lorenzo martyr committee .

Space also for the live music of "Tune". In addition there will be the participation of two exceptional guests such as the tenor Francesco Demuro and the chef Luigi Pomata, who will receive a special prize for the prestige given to Sardinia in the world.

Also scheduled is the award ceremony for the "Golden Onion of Banari" award. A prestigious sculpture created and donated by the artist Giuseppe Carta will be given to the two personalities, Demuro and Pomata, for the prestige given to Sardinia with their professional activity in the world.

Other awards will be given to the producer of the largest onion, and to those who have contributed to enhancing the tasty food with their work.
