End of 2022 nightmare and first part of the 2023/2024 season canceled for Manuel Neuer.

A few days after the sensational elimination of his Germany in the group stage of the World Cup, the number 1 of Bayern Munich and the German national team, announced that his season is over after a fall while skiing on holiday.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper underwent surgery on his right leg and, in a post on Instagram that portrays him on a hospital bed with his leg in a cast, he announces: «What can I say, the end of the year could certainly have gone better... While I was looking to clear my head skiing, I broke my lower leg. The surgery went well and I thank the medical staff, but it hurts to know that the current season is over for me».

For Bayern, who also lost Frenchman Lucas Hernandez to a knee ligament injury at the World Cup, another hard blow. The Bavarians in the round of 16 in the Champions League will face PSG.
