There are over thirty thousand signatures, both on paper and online , from Sardinian citizens for the referendum to repeal the Calderoli law on differentiated autonomy : "A clear signal - comments the secretary of the Cgil Sardinia Fausto Durante - which shows the awareness of the Island of the risks that autonomy in the Lega key, supported by the parties of the majority and by Prime Minister Meloni herself, brings for the entire country and for the most disadvantaged regions".

The union organized the transport of the packages with the signed forms which were loaded onto the ship leaving Olbia for Civitavecchia yesterday to be delivered to Rome today .

"It is a law that divides the country, tends to bring about the secession of the richest regions and to condemn the areas with slow growth to a permanent condition of inferiority", explains Durante, underlining that "for these reasons a large popular movement has animated the commitment against the law throughout the island and is loudly calling for it to be cancelled through a referendum ".

The Cgil at all levels has mobilized to collect signatures and will now support the “yes” vote in the referendum until the vote: «Together with the political and social forces, associations and citizens of Sardinia - concludes the general secretary - we will bring to every Municipality, to every local reality, the reasons of those who want Italy to be one and indivisible and of those who fight for the cohesion of the country, against every division and every idea of disintegration and new inequalities».
