Australian Open: first round ok for Sinner, Berrettini withdraws
The South Tyrolean surpasses Van de Zandschulp, the other Italian is knocked out again and misses the match with Tsitsipas

It's a bittersweet awakening for Italian tennis. On the other side of the world, Jannik Sinner made it past the first round at the Australian Open . Matteo Berrettini , however, will not take the field: a new knockout, this time on the right foot, stops the blue player.
3-0 for the South Tyrolean in the match against Van de Zandschulp , but the Dutchman (number 59 in the world) proved to be a more difficult opponent than expected, keeping Sinner on the pitch for more than two and a half hours. In the end he takes home the result (6-4, 7-5, 6-3) and will face another Dutchman, Jesper De Jong , in the next round.
Infinite ordeal, however, for Berrettini, who should have taken the field against Tsitsipas (number 7 ATP). The Roman was forced to withdraw. Tonight, at one o'clock, it will be the turn of the other two Italians in the race: Musetti , who will face Bonzi, and Cobolli , who will face the number 13 seed Jarry.
