The Solinas Council has appointed the general managers who from January will lead the health companies in the new structure defined by regional law number 24 of 2020, thus putting an end to the commissioner management necessary for the implementation of the reform process of the Sardinian health system.

Thomas Schael will not be the general manager of Ares, the regional health agency who will take over some of the centralized functions of the Ats, such as personnel and client management. After an initial telephone conversation with the President of the Region, Christian Solinas, the hypothesis of having the German-born manager at the head of the most important healthcare company among those established in the governance reform approved last year but operational to all effects starting tomorrow.

The choice fell on the 57-year-old Venetian Annamaria Tomasella, today the extraordinary commissioner of Health in Molise. Simonetta Cinzia Bettelini was reconfirmed at the Areus (Company of the urgent emergency in the Lega quota). Agnese Foddis (Forza Italia) instead leaves the Aou of Cagliari (where Chiara Seazzu arrives, Udc area) for the general direction of Brotzu. Antonio Lorenzo Spano goes to Aou Sassari.

As regards the eight local social and health agencies, the managers appointed by the Sardinian executive are: Flavio Sensi (Asl 1, Sassari); Marcello Acciaro (Asl 2, Gallura); Paolo Cannas (Asl 3, Nuoro); Luigi Cugia (Asl 4, Ogliastra); Angelo Maria Serusi (Asl 5, Oristano); Giorgio Carboni (Asl 6, Medio Campidano); Giuliana Campus (Asl 7, Sulcis); Marcello Tidore (Asl 8, Cagliari).
