Nadia Battocletti repeated her victory in the 5,000 meters and won the gold medal in the 10,000 meters at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. The middle-distance runner from Trentino took first place on the podium with a time of 31:41:18.

It was a beautiful day, I had a lot of fun. My recovery wasn't that great, but I'm happy to have reaped the benefits this month. I have to thank my staff for pampering me, the entire town of Cavareno, and a big hug to all of Italy. The girls ran a slightly tougher race than the 5,000 meters. I wanted to make a couple of moves, but they beat me to it, so I said, 'Oh well, go ahead.'

These are Nadia Battocletti's words to RAI after her victory in the 10,000 meters at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. The Italian athlete crowned her father at the finish line: "I'm at this level thanks in part to my dad, who put together the entire staff. He takes care of everything, he understands me instantly from his gaze. It's heartwarming to be surrounded by this love."
