No handshake to the opponent. To violate one of the rules of bon ton in the sports world was the Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk who, at the US Open, refused to shake hands with the Belarusian Victoria Azarenka.

Kostyuk took part in the race - which he lost - wearing a ribbon with the colors of the Ukrainian flag on his hat. "Everyone tries to be super diplomatic about this - said the 20-year-old tennis player to justify her behavior - but my nation is being killed every day ". He also protested Azarenka's participation in a Ukrainian charity event held in New York last week, managing to prevent it. Azarenka, a two-time winner in the Major, replied that she was not surprised by the lack of handshake: "I don't think it's a big deal", she added, specifying, for her part: "I always shake hands with my opponents ".
