At the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari the first time in Sardinia of the Benedict Gospel Choir
Two evenings of engaging show with the award-winning American choirTwo unforgettable evenings. For those who love music, but not only. Because “La Notte del Gospel” at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari, organized by Expo Teatro and the cultural association Il Jazzino, with the Benedict Gospel Choir, brought everyone together, between sharing, entertainment and emotions. The American choir, for the first time in Sardinia and winner of five editions of the “Black Music Caucus Gospel Choir” competition in New York, is probably the number one among gospel choirs in the world.
In Cagliari the show was engaging and the audience was also a protagonist, when the extraordinary Jayson Clayborn, vocalist and choir director, came down to the stalls to have those who wanted to perform perform a fragment of Michael Jackson's song "Heal the world" . The Benedict Gospel Choir, which has also given pieces by Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and other timeless hits, is made up of talented vocalists and in the next few days will participate in the 32nd edition of the Christmas Concert 2024 in the Vatican, but not only that, because the BGC will say goodbye on the first night of 2025 at the Umbria Jazz Festival.
Between traditional gospel, with a lot of participation from the singers, jazz, blues and engaging choreography, the show definitely lived up to expectations. The choir is directed by Jason Clayborn, minister, director and vocalist and songwriter, two Grammy nominations, but also formidable are the other “soloists”, as Clayborn called them : Tasha Page, Mich E. Clarke and Daria Raymore, all three authentic superstars of international gospel.
