Copies of some pieces from museum collections reproduced with 3D material printers. On Friday in the premises of the Sironi Academy at the Mas.edu Museum in Sassari, the motivations, technologies used and results of the project called "Tactile/sensory path: accessibility and use of cultural heritage", conceived by the lead association CLIC, will be presented at 4.30 pm – Circle of languages, information and cultures, coordinated by vice-president Alba Canu, supported by the Sardinia Foundation, and is about to be completed in close partnership with the “Mario Sironi” Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari which has made experts available , innovative technologies, equipment and laboratories for the production of copies of archaeological and maritime tradition finds intended for tactile use, with the aim of creating a new accessibility in exhibition environments.

The local authorities and associations involved are the Municipality of Tergu with the deposits of archaeological finds from excavations in the area and the participation of the New Age Soc. Coop Sociale, the Municipality of Porto Torres with the Porto Museum and Asso.Ve. The - Latina Sailing Association, the Municipality of Stintino with the Tonnara Museum, the ANGSA Association. APS – National Association of Parents of Autistic Individuals of Sassari.

The group of copies, created with laser scanner detection and reproduced with 3D material printers, is specific for each museum and collection, and will remain available for use by the local authorities that are partners of the project and initiative. Giuseppina Manca di Mores, professor of Cultural and Environmental Heritage, and Pier Paolo Luvoni, professor of Contemporary Plastic Techniques and coordinator of the digital manufacturing laboratory Art Lab Accademia Sironi, coordinated and developed the operational parts of the project.

The laser scanner interventions for the detection of the finds were authorized by the archaeological official Gabriella Gasperetti from the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro of the Ministry of Culture.
