Ensemble that wins, changes, but only for age reasons. The Azuni Jazz Orchestra (Ajò) is in fact made up of students from the Sassari high school and therefore the musicians are replaced as they graduate. The tenth anniversary of what was born as an experimental project in 2014 based on an idea by the teacher Dante Casu will be celebrated on Thursday at the Astra theater in Sassari (starting at 9pm) with a concert included in the program of the third edition of the "Astrale" festival, organized by the group musical Bertas and by the theater company La Botte e il Cilindro.

Since 2015, the Ajò orchestra, directed by Casu and Roberto Mura, has been permanently included in the plan to expand the educational offering of the Azuni Music High School.

«Despite its recent establishment – explains Dante Casu – the orchestra has already carried out projects together with great names in jazz including the saxophonist Gavino Murgia, the American singer Rachel Gould and, at the conclusion of the Stintino Jazz seminars, with Bruno Tommaso and Roberto Spadoni."

The Ajò orchestra also participated in "Time in Jazz Sassari", "Jazz for Unesco", "Musica al Museo", the "White Night of Legality" and other important events in the area.

The evening's program will be composed of a selection of pieces taken from the now rich repertoire of the Ajò orchestra . Lead singer Giulia Delogu .
