Tumors are increasingly frequent pathologies, which affect men and women without distinction. In 2022 in Italy there were an estimated 390,700 new cancer diagnoses, 14,100 more than in 2020. Specifically, there was an increase in diagnoses of 1.4% in men and 0.7% in women.
The most frequently diagnosed cancer was breast cancer (55,700 cases), followed by colorectal (48,100 cases), lung (43,900 cases), prostate (40,500 cases) and bladder (29,200 cases).

To combat tumors and say "Stop cancer", it remains essential to fight diagnostic delays and promote prevention through adherence to national screening programs and the fight against bad lifestyles - such as tobacco smoking, obesity, poor diet and lack of physical activity.

The talk “15 minutes with…” is edited by Aou Cagliari News, the newspaper of the university hospital. An agile and simple format, it includes 15 minutes of discussions with specialists and the possibility for the public to ask questions live.
